If You Give a Mouse a Cookie By Laura Numeroff

I refer to phrases in this book every time a student asks to borrow something (i.e. scissors, paper, pencils). It always goes the way the book reads If you give a mouse a cookie....he will want a glass of milk....then he will want a straw and so on. Then, I ask the students If I give you scissors, what will you need next? The student goes backs and sit down and comes back almost laughing asking for something like glue.

A great read for readers of all ages that teaches a lesson or two.

  1. I want this series for Joy. She will love it. Unfortunately, I was unable to get to Chick-fil-a to get them when they were giving out the series with the kid's meals. Thanks for sharing.

  2. My little people love this series of books. We have read most of them now. I came across a one courtesy of Chick-fil-a that I had not read before (If You Give a Moose a Muffin). What I really enjoyed about the books that I most recently read to Mackenzie, she was able to read quite a few words from the story with me.

  3. I wonder if Laura Numeroff had any idea what a hit her cause and effect books would be! I love them all!
